In 2015 we ran away to Cornwall, that's me Janice, and Mr Wellydog also known as Steve. We set up Wellydog and have been in our current premises on the side of Hayle harbour since November 2015. I like making things and painting and so it seemed like a good idea to unclutter out house and get a shop to sell them from and its grown from there, We mostly make Seaglass jewellery from the found gems we collect around the beautiful British coast, but also my paintings surround us in this tiny gem of a shop. I like to paint waves and coastal harbours to bring a blue and sea washed feel to our walls. Mr Wellydog's photographs are displayed on cards and in frames and some leather work, he has beautifully handcrafted, can be bought at reasonable prices.
We also are assisted by our daughter, the Wellydog apprentice who helps us out at busy fairs and markets, We are not sure why but she volunteered, for this role. Then we have our not so normal beach assistant and collie dog, Fin. He helps us roam the beaches, sniffing out seaglass, old fish, balls and seaweed!
Our shop is cosy but there is always a warm welcome. You can usually find us Wednesday to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm at 55 Penpol Terrace, Hayle , West Cornwall. But do check our facebook page for any changes to this, as sometimes we are tempted to take a day off to go to the beach We are opposite the famous Philps Pasty shop.
